Après Youth turns jewellery into character: from neon Fireworks to recycled-silver self-love

Some jewellery brands sell polish. Après Youth sells personality. The London label’s current brand book presents a world built on colour, conviction, and emotional clarity — a place where jewellery becomes less about occasion dressing and more about identity worn close to the skin. At the centre of its message is a line that captures the brand’s tone perfectly: style is not trend-led, but “the glow from life lived with conviction.”

That point of view is grounded in a clear design story. Founder and designer Emily Brown brings more than ten years of experience across fashion and high-end jewellery, shaping a label that merges expressive contemporary styling with responsible production. All pieces are designed in London and made in Jaipur, where the brand works with master craftsmen and partners affiliated with the Responsible Jewellery Council. It gives Après Youth a foundation that is both visually bold and materially considered.

The first major collection in focus, Fireworks, is exactly what its name promises: celebratory, kinetic, and impossible to ignore. Launched in 2023, it is built around spinning Catherine Wheels in bright enamel, accented with hexagonal rubies and linked to a bespoke firework chain that appears across necklaces, hoops, and bracelets. Rather than using colour as a novelty, Après Youth uses it as structure — as something architectural, graphic, and full of movement.

Then the brand pivots. Don’t Hate Me, I Am You brings in a more intimate and disruptive emotional texture. Made in 100% recycled sterling silver, the collection introduces chunky hearts made from ears, moving googly eyes, and square signet rings in semi-precious stones. It is jewellery with a clear message of radical self-love and individuality, but without losing humour or edge. The pieces feel strange in the best way: tender, sculptural, and slightly confrontational.

The strongest part of the brand book is how clearly the product edits support that wider story. In necklaces, there is a movement from the bright Rocket Enamel Necklace and Catherine Spinning Necklace to the darker mood of the Introvert Black Diamond Necklace and the quieter symbolism of A Good Listener. Rings bring together bright enamel, peridot, amethysts, lapis lazuli, and crystal mother of pearl, while earrings and bracelets echo the same tension between exuberance and intimacy. Across the range, prices begin at £65 and rise to £490, giving the brand both entry-level accessibility and room for statement pieces.

What emerges is a jewellery brand that understands adornment as an extension of character. Après Youth does not ask whether a piece should be elegant or playful, polished or strange, emotional or graphic. It allows all of those qualities to coexist — which is precisely what makes it feel modern.
