French Impressionism as a wearable gallery: MAD DAISY’s “Lumière de Guillaumin” landed in London

MAD DAISY, the art-to-wear label founded by Dr. Margarita Fedoseev, brought its AW26 womenswear project “Lumière de Guillaumin” to London after debuting the collection in New York. The showcase appeared within Fashion Scout’s Ones To Watch programme during the February fashion week season.

Titled French Art to Wear, the collection reframes Impressionism not as reference, but as method — turning museum heritage into a daily wardrobe that carries emotion, colour and light beyond the gallery wall. Inspired by the works of Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin from the Petit Palais in Paris, the project centres on cultural dialogue: clothing as a meeting point where art history, feeling and contemporary life co-exist.

MAD DAISY described “Lumière de Guillaumin” as an ongoing cultural project rather than a one-off seasonal statement. Using advanced digital approaches and proprietary techniques, the brand translated Guillaumin’s luminous palette, vibration of colour and painterly depth into textile prints — aiming to keep the atmosphere of Impressionism intact, while shifting it into modern movement and city rhythm.

The pieces follow MAD DAISY’s signature code: relaxed silhouettes with intention, designed to honour individuality. Standouts included brushstroke-textured dresses, sculpted suits with abstract motifs, and coats and tops shaped through artful tailoring. Translucent textures and signature prints added a layered effect, while the material palette — silk, linen, cotton and viscose — supported the collection’s lightness and wearability.

Positioned for both fashion stages and cultural spaces, MAD DAISY’s stated mission is to rebuild emotional connection with museum heritage and strengthen the long-running conversation between art and fashion — with Impressionism carried not as nostalgia, but as something lived.
