INF DARK SS27 ‘MACRO’ Examines Time and Identity Through Anne Rice’s Vampire Universe

INF DARK presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection MACRO during London Fashion Week on 20 September at Fashion Scout, Protein Studios, using Anne Rice’s vampire universe as a framework for examining time, identity and changing ideas of beauty. Inspired by Interview with the Vampire, the collection looks beyond vampire imagery itself to the experience of characters existing across centuries, observing civilisation and personal identity continually transform around them.

Looking at Fashion Through Time

The title MACRO introduces the collection’s central method: looking more closely. INF DARK uses it to direct attention towards detail, proportion and construction, but also towards the relationship between an individual garment and the broader visual world in which it exists.

For SS27, that enlarged perspective becomes connected to time. Anne Rice’s fictional universe spans almost seven centuries, giving the brand a narrative structure through which different historical periods can be considered alongside shifting standards of beauty and identity.

Rather than treating the reference simply as an aesthetic source, INF DARK positions longevity as the more interesting question. What happens to identity when a person moves through multiple eras? How does beauty change when viewed against a much longer timeline? And what remains recognisable when the cultural context surrounding the individual has repeatedly transformed?

These questions give MACRO a conceptual foundation that extends beyond costume or literal representations of vampirism.

The Individual Garment and the Wider Image

INF DARK describes its practice as one strongly concerned with visual identity and contemporary design. Within MACRO, this emphasis is directed towards the relationship between close observation and the total image.

Detail and proportion become important because they alter how a garment is read both individually and as part of a complete silhouette. Construction, meanwhile, provides another way of thinking about permanence and transformation: clothing can appear fixed as an object while changing meaning according to the body, period or context around it.

The collection’s vampire reference strengthens that tension. The characters at the centre of Rice’s universe remain present while centuries move around them, making continuity and change inseparable. INF DARK translates that premise into fashion by considering identity not as a static quality but as something repeatedly reframed through time.

Fashion Between the Moment and the Eternal

The contrast between the immediate and the enduring sits at the centre of MACRO. Fashion normally operates through seasons and continual renewal, while the collection’s source material imagines lives unfolding across hundreds of years.

That collision gives INF DARK a way to question how contemporary fashion relates to temporality itself. SS27 inevitably belongs to a particular season, yet its conceptual reference reaches far beyond one fashion cycle.

In this context, MACRO becomes less about recreating the world of Interview with the Vampire and more about using it as a lens through which to examine how beauty, identity and visual culture evolve. The vampire becomes useful precisely because it occupies an unusual position: remaining while everything else changes.

Presented within the Fashion Scout platform during London Fashion Week, the collection continues INF DARK’s exploration of contemporary fashion through a distinctive visual vocabulary. With MACRO, that vocabulary is placed against an unusually long horizon, asking the viewer to consider not only what a garment looks like now, but how ideas of identity and beauty are transformed by the passage of time.
